Sichuan cooking across from Theatre Row

Ollie's Sichuan, also known by its Chinese name 成都印象 ("Impressions of Chengdu"), is on the ground floor of Manhattan Plaza at 411 West 42nd Street, between Ninth and Tenth Avenues. Theatre Row and Playwrights Horizons are directly across the street, and Times Square and the Port Authority Bus Terminal are a short walk east, so it is an easy dinner before or after a show.

What to order

The kitchen cooks the bold, numbing flavors of Sichuan: Chengdu dan dan noodles, wontons in red chili oil, mapo tofu, Chong Qing diced chicken with hot chili peppercorn, boiled fish fillet in spicy broth, and a spicy dry pot for the table. Peking duck comes by the half or whole bird. The menu also keeps Cantonese roast meats, handmade soup dumplings, steamed diet dishes and Ollie's classics like General Tso's chicken, so guests who don't want heat have plenty to choose from.
